Equilibrium Books is currently seeking quality, original works of speculative fiction (Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror etc.), Thrillers and Mystery novels, and works with an Australian flavour, connection or location. Other genres will also be considered, including non-fiction books and biographies etc. If you're not sure, please feel free to ask us. The submission must be entirely the work of its author or editor and free of any copyright or contractual obligations. We do not publish erotica or adult type boooks, nor can we accept fan fiction due to legal and copyright issues. Submissions that contain racial hatred, pornography, child abuse or unnecessary/gratuitous violence and/or unnecessary/gratuitous expletives will also not be considered for publication.

All submissions must be written in English. Minimum word count is 15,000 words, up to a maximum of 120,000 words per book or volume, or 150,000 words per book or volume for our OZ POD™ Gold packages. Maximum word count for OZ POD™ Bronze is 60,000 words.

Our publishing services are primarily offered to local Australian authors, but we'll also look at submissions from authors in other countries (USA, Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand etc.) on an individual basis. All submissions must be in English language.

Please note that we are a POD Print Publisher only and no longer produce eBooks. Due to its limited market appeal, Equilibrium Books will only consider the commercial publication of Poetry Collections on an individual basis, however, our OZ POD™ Lite Book Creation Service is ideal for this purpose. We highly recommend that you read our FAQs Page before making a submission.

All submissions will be carefully assessed for their suitability prior to acceptance, and Equilibrium Books reserve the right to refuse any manuscript for any reason.

All manuscripts must be proofed, edited and ready for publication before they are submitted. Poorly edited submissions will not be accepted. Submissions sent as email attachments will not be accepted for security reasons.

If you have a completed, proofed and edited manuscript you'd like to submit for our consideration, please click on the Submit Manuscript button below to complete a Submission Query Form and attach your manuscript file in one of the formats listed below. Please remember to tell us if your work has been published previously in ANY format.

We can accept .doc, .rtf, .wps or .txt files. All manuscripts should be contained within a single document file with all embedded images and graphics removed. Manuscripts submitted as multiple chapter files will not be accepted. PDF submissions will also not be accepted. Please ensure your manuscript is complete, readable and in English, sent to us in standard manuscript format (ie: Courier New 12pt font, double line spaced etc.) Please do not use a template or other process to format the layout of your document, however, italics and any other special formatting requirements should be clearly indicated and scene breaks marked with a # (white lines may be lost in the formatting process).

If your manuscript is approved, you will be offered a publishing agreement and your finished book size and cover price will be determined. The FAQ's section will be updated regularly and should cover most queries. However, if you need to know something, just ask us!

Printed manuscripts cannot be returned via mail unless sufficient return postage is included with your submission. Please indicate in the Synopsis section of the Query Form if your manuscript will be sent via normal mail. If you are offered an agreement, you will still need to provide your manuscript in an acceptable electronic format (see file types above). Scanning and print conversion will only be offered if no other digital formats are available, with prices quoted upon application.
