Synopsis
Following the catastrophic events that nearly decimated the peaceful village regions of Kapit in South East Asia, life
slowly returned to normal for Kimberley Shu and her family. Her encounters with fairies and dragons had given Kimberley a better understanding of the strange workings of the
world that sometimes only she could see.
As her journey from child to adult continues, a new challenge awaits Kimberley and her fellow villagers, as she seeks to solve the mystery of Batu Cave.
It is an adventure that will affect the lives of many forever, as unrest and political turmoil threatens the simple tranquillity of Taman Bunga, and the loss of a loved one
leaves the village grieving.

From The Book
"I overheard some villagers talking about a disappearance at Batu Cave," Kimberley said worriedly, looking towards the
distant horizon and mountain ranges. "A few men were lost."
"How?" Li asked curiously.
"They were in the mountains collecting edible bird nests, but their families say they never returned," Kimberley explained. "I have pictured something in my mind that may be
responsible, but it was just a flash really, so I can't be sure."
"Sure about what?"
"The creature in the cave."
"A creature? That's sounds a little frightening, Kimberley. What did it look like?"
"I don't know, but it was huge," she replied, still staring at the distant mountains. "And it spoke to me, Mother; I think it needs my help."
The region's mountain ranges were littered with caves, most of which were home to colonies of bats and swallows, but no one had ever reported seeing anything like the
apparition Kimberley had seen inside her mind.
"There is something very mysterious about the mountains, Mother. Who knows what could be living in the caves?"
