From The Book
Kang sat down on the grass for a while before joining Ismail, thoughts of all that happened flooding through his mind. Had
he really seen a ghost, or was it just a trick of the light and his tired eyes?
A few days later he had all but forgotten the strange encounter when a sudden chill passed over him again. Hovering a short distance away was the same apparition he had seen
earlier in the week.
"Ismail, can you come over here please," he called
"What's up?" Ismail asked, running up to him.
"Can you see anything over there?" Kang pointed towards the middle of the rice fields.
Ismail's heart froze. "Yes, I can, but I don't believe it," he said. "There is a shadow of a young woman with long hair floating above the ground. I can understand how you
felt the other day, Kang, because I am feeling quite sick now."
"Well, we can't both be seeing things," Kang said. "Perhaps she has something to tell us."
"Perhaps," Ismail replied.
"But I cannot see her face, and her body is white and translucent," Kang observed.
"I will have nightmares tonight for sure," Ismail said.
The ghost suddenly moved towards them and Kang screamed. "Run, Ismail, it's coming for us!" he shouted.
